Physical Activity is paramount for your health - NOT to lose weight but rather to strngthen your physiologhy and also has shown to improve your mental health.
Louise is a wonderful clinician:Louisa Herring, PhD, is the Physical Activity Research and Implementation Lead in the Leicester Lifestyle and Health Research Group, at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
Her research focuses on physical activity in the context of long-term conditions, particularly diabetes, obesity, and metabolic and bariatric surgery. She leads the translation of physical activity research into practical tools designed to enhance activity levels in clinical populations and improve long-term health outcomes.
Dr Herring has developed and implemented physical activity pathways within the local Tier 3 weight management service and in type 2 diabetes research. She also continues to collaborate with international colleagues to advance research and guidance on physical activity in the context of metabolic and bariatric surgery.
More recently, her work has centred on digital tools such as Steps4Health and MyHealthMapp, which have been developed to measure, monitor, and promote personalised 24-hour movement behaviour support, an essential component of healthy living for individuals with obesity and related long-term conditions.
